Re: Tales from Space!
Thankyou Vertex, you too, your project is coming along nicely! This is one of the bosses. Its like a broccoli stalk or bean stalk. Did I mention this game is about mutated plantlife? http://i.imgur.com/tbxNhCV.png http://i.imgur.com/yy6GnXG.png http://i.imgur.com/4aeZDw8.png http://i.imgur.com/oYrjo...

Re: How donate to this RF project
aicd99, Reality Factory is pretty powerful in its own right. In one sentence, you can build a complete game with it and sell it. I hear you though, a graphics and functionality update would be nice but it takes time and effort to get this working properly. I prefer Reality Factory as well because it...

Tales from Space!
Tales from Space! Thats not the final title but ill use it for now. This is going to be a series of very short episodic games. The tales takes place on a space colony and you play as a security guard that keeps ending up in hairy situations, hence 'Tales'. Im aiming for a cartoon style game, not har...

Re: Reality Factory as a Retro Game Creator
Wow was I way off! My DX9 rant was off by an X or two :) Seriously thought this engine went up to DX9. But DX 7 looks pretty good. And besides, what Reality Factory is capable of is still looks good. It runs fast and with all the new hardware out, you can build games with little hit on the CPU or gr...

Re: Robot Game- details inside
Hello everyone, sorry for the no posting for a few months. In any case whoevers still around, while I dont consider this an actual game but sort of a proof of concept where I got the a.i, levels textures and stuff to all work together, its something Im proud of. Re: How do you get an NPC to drop an item?
While I still have the chance..... Is there anyway to make a level end AFTER completing a task? Say clearing a room down to the last enemy? Or even better, after boss is defeated, the level simply ends, bypassing the whole "collect a key" problem. Making a health bar appear over an enemies head? Doo...

Re: Reality Factory as a Retro Game Creator
Gamemaker: I have an idea  Been working on it for the longest time now, heres the thread: http://forum.realityfactory.info/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5392 Its not a shooter though, im trying to reach a wider audience. It uses all the shooter mechanics with different effects. You dont destroy the rob...

Re: How do you get an NPC to drop an item?
QuestofDreams: Thank you for the reply, I KNEW it had something to do with the Attribute entity! However, I added the attribute entity, named the trigger "dropkey". I used the cratea2.act model for the key model. In the enemy script -> SetEventState (dropkey, true); Upon defeat, the crate doesnt sho...

Re: Reality Factory as a Retro Game Creator
I agree. Reality Factory is a fine engine, its capable of alot. Im still using it now. If only there were more games coming out for it. I don't know if its compatible with newer version of windows or other operating systems but it shouldn't go extinct. It still works up to Direct X 9 and look at S.T...

How do you get an NPC to drop an item?
Ive been through the manuals several times and cannot find it anywhere. Say I have a boss that after its defeated, it drops a key that lets you leave the level. Is this possible? I think it has something to do with attributes but... While were here... is there any way to get smoother shadows on obje...
