GameCore is located at www.gamecore.ca (not .com)... I can't believe the argument that it is not much better then RF.... I'm not trying to bash RF, RF is a great opensource project.... But it is pretty darned old... I'll admit it's been a long time since I've used RF but it is still based on genesis ...

federico, there is a problem with the scripts in some of the templates that werent updated in the demos, mainly the cause of thatt marble games horrible framerate... error in scripting, sort of, the dynamicstep for the physics was set wrong.. simple fix posted on the forums over there

As far as the engine running slow, I am not sure where the problem lies... If it is actually the engine then I am not sure, I am using a celeron and it works fine here... If you are refering to the marble demo or other demos, and not specifically the engine it is a problem with those demos, they ...

I havent played with lighting in BV very much, but I dont quite know what you mean by complete lack? Theres lightmapping, shadows, stencil shadows, etc...

The lighting is all dependant on how you set the lights up... look at the lighting in this thread

Yeah, I dont use RF, but it does have stencil shadows... Maybe that was just the icing on the cake for GD1?

Just so people are aware, there was a bug that arose with the starter kit which may cause it to crash sometimes, theyre working on fixing it, but it never happened before with the silver ...

actually the engine is in beta and all the shadows and reflections will be added in the next release. as far as that making good games thats not true. good games need to be entertaining, the whole purpose of a game is fun.
