Yes, the LOD system should make its way into RF2.

Every few minutes according to Google, an interesting search occurs: People googling for Google.

Every once in awhile, a tech support agent will tell you, they will get an email complaining that their email account is down.

I figure AndyCR and I can program if he's interested. (...) Maybe we can leverage the RF2 codebase and kill 2 birds with one stone? We get that moving along faster while designing a game using it (not that you are moving slow Andy, just that you could use more help). Sounds good to me, I'd love to ...

Very slightly. I ran Counter-Strike Source on it, and it was slightly slower than it was on Windows. Perhaps around 10-20% slower.

No, sorry, thought you were attacking it. Misunderstood. How could you not love an OS that does this? http://youtube.com/watch?v=_ImW0-MgR8I  (Note: Please mute sound before playing video) (Yes, I know that's largely irrelevant to getting your work done) I agree fully that it isn't yet ready fo...

Re: GameDev.NET 4E6 Contest

Anyone interested in forming a team for the GameDev.Net 4 Elements 6 contest ? We can't use RF, but it would be fun to make a game using OpenGL, DX or XNA. Who knows...a more modern codebase may come out of this. ;) The elements will be announced tomorrow at 11AM EDT. Sounds fun! Why can't you use ...

It seems to me that the LINUX community is focused on adding new features more than they are making it user friendly. It already is user-friendly for its user base. I have no problem whatsoever using it, and it does everything I need and almost everything I want. They are so desparate to be complet...

I'm just glad it has a lifetime warranty. My doorstops, during "intended usage", get torn up beyond all repair all the time.

HP overnighted me a new restore disc, so I'm back up and running as soon as I get the PC set up for RF2 development again.

There's no device that does that, but you can ccomplish it without a device on most PC's by "overclocking". You can google it for more info. Note: Do this on a laptop at your own risk - laptops run hot enough as it is. Also, I doubt you will have very good results with a Celeron M.

MingGW is cool but it's a different scenario for you. You want to be cross platform with RF2. He needs to learn one platform at a time. IMHO, Linux/Unix is more difficult to program for than Windows is as it follows strict ISO standards. .NET is what everything is about these days. It's good to lea...

Very much more realistic looking. What are you using to move him around? Is that a hard-coded feature for testing while you're implementing physics, or is it a script? (IE can people do something similar, like a physics gun, when it is released?)
