Tools source?
Hello there, Some of you may remember me from... I'm looking for the source code for a couple of the RF tools, namely the TTF converter app - there used to be a single 'tools source' zip that was available, but it doesn't seem to be available on the downloads page. Has this source been integrated in...

umm...you just 'add them' ;}
in actor studio, when you click 'add motion', instead of pointing at an mot file, you can simply point actor studio at an .act file and it will load all of the animations into the current actor.

rf's version of g3d IS the latest version..
last time i checked, the genesis 3d official release has been a bit behind the RF release - the Reality Factory community is the 'last man standing' so to speak, and QoD has done an amazing job at keeping the Genesis community alive with the RF releases.

engine functionality
regarding system specs, it's really hard to say - the engine is designed to scale from low end to high-end, functionality-wise. The engine supports HDR on a geforce2 for one thing - considering every other engine that i've seen, period requires a directx9 or higher video card, we are pretty proud of...

There ARE no demo's included with the starter kit
The starter kit 'example' projects are just that - example projects that are meant to help people, um ' get started' using the engine. They are by no means meant to provide any kind of visual demonstration of what the engine is capable of. I did realize that this was going to be a bit of an issue, w...

ms3d
the universal packs are something i'm considering posting along with the demonstration of the ms3d support - i'll need to save all the animations out as ms3d files as opposed to the .smd or .mot files, but this is a fairly minor inconvenience. as well, since you only need to save your animations ONC...

Trial Version
We are considering releasing a Trial version of the engine in the near future. Once we reach a solid 'Gold' release of the Indie engine, we will post more news about this.
For what it's worth, you can check out the Beyond Virtual forums to get feedback from users that HAVE purchased the engine.

act - game-specific files
the Act format is a 'game ready' 3d format that is loaded directly into the game. 3d packages like max etc would load the original game models in the .max format, and export 'temp' model files (in max's case they are .nfo, milkshape 3d exports .mot and .bdy files as temp files). the temp files are c...

Shouldn't this thread be moved into scripting? People might not find it over here in general discussions.
Good intro tutorial - even simple tutorials like this include the basics that might be a stumbling block for people getting started with rf.
