i think... depending on which 5200 you have, it may not support extra textures. try setting that = 0 in the ini.

in-game that will be fine! if you can afford some extra polys it's best to make round objects with a pentagon cross-section. but like i said, what you have will be fine in-game.

google for the "csgirl" tut. if i remember it's a larger dl - like 19Mb but it's really good for low poly modelling. covers everything from reference images to unwrapping and rigging. very good tut for low-poly human modelling.

never had a prob with xp myself. does 98 compatibility override anything in the d3d ini? most of the time this kind of thing is either vid card, driver or settings related. if you have a weak vid card set extra textures = 0 in the d3d ini.

don't know if anyone's working on it seriously right now. i'm sure it's on the list. i played with it a while back but work got in the way. the code is pretty complete and yes you're correct you can network but without interaction. and you have to connect with an ip (vs browser). there's a complete ...
