Re: Squirrel Discussion

Makes sense. Personally I still lean more in favour of Python, but another approach would be to just offer support for multiple scripting languages. Different users have different needs, and it shouldn't be too difficult to create an abstract scripting module for the engine.

Re: Squirrel Discussion

Python is also slow when calling Python functions from C++
Typically, wouldn't we only be calling C++ functions from Python? The only reason I can think of why you'd need to call Python from C++ would be if you intended on having a main entry-point function.

Re: An offer of programming assistance.

Yes, a PM probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Dunno why I didn't in the first place :p.

As for that program, I can have a look at it, but I'm not sure why it would really need a GUI for image editing. Although maybe one for more user-friendliness couldn't hurt.

An offer of programming assistance.

Hello hello! Seems like every time I post I have to say that "most of you probably don't remember me". Whenever I come by here, there's basically a whole new set of active users :p. Anyway, a few days ago I decided to check in on the RF community to see what was happening these days, as I periodical...

Survey for a School Project

Hello All, Most of you probably don't remember me. I'd be surprised if even any of the old-timer's here remember me by this time. Anyway, in my enterprise class (high-school), we’re in the process of completing business plans. Part of this, as you probably guessed, involves issuing a survey. I decid...

Yeah, I'm talking about the forums that used to be at support.realityfactory.ca.

What are the chances of Gekido still having that?

r u like real good with rf then? Heh, I haven't used RF in ages. Although I guess I used to be alright with it, although I wouldn't say I was really good or anything. I only ever released one (really buggy) demo. I checked filefront, but I didn't find anything related to the old forums there. Coupl...

The old, old, old forums....

Hey all.

Is there a static copy of the really old forums around anywhere? I'm talking about way back, in the Ikonboard days.

I remember there were some links to some nice free textures, but I can't find them anywhere.

@quest: Does the e-mail address in your profile work? I sent an offer to host the RF forums and/or site on my PowWeb account, but never heard back. Just wondering if you got it or not. Sorry if this post sounds pushy or intrusive.

"I just installed linux Mandriva, i'm having a bit of trouble getting the bootloader working."

Really? The Mandriva bootloader usually sets itself up automagically on the install. Whats the problem?

"BUT ONLY "OPEN" WHAT ABOUT DIRECTX" What about DirectX? DirectX does not run on Linux, or Mac. I don't know how to program with DirectX. DirectX is more complicated than it needs to be (IMO). "But I suggest you to make a video showing some editing and the engine in action." I'll get to that eventua...

Clockwork: new screenshots

Hi all. As some of you know, i've been away from RF for a while (ok, a really long time), working on my engine project. Well, now I have somthing to show for it! Screenshots. I was told by one person that the second screen looked a little weird depth-perspective wise. Do any of you notice it? And al...
