Re: 3D engines
Leadwerks looks pretty good. I know of it a little, cause I use the world editor build by the same people. Anyway, I recently bough Blitz3D . Its not really an engine, but a language, a form of BASIC, specially designed to make games. It's quite stable and very powerful. I know, you have to know cod...

Re: I need some help with CS models!
Ah, you didn't mean official but custom CS models. If indeed the author gave permission, its fine. You'd still need to check the skeleton and animations though, 'cause most custom models use the standard stuff from Valve (creators of Half-life, CS, etc.), meaning copyrighted.

I'm sorry to tell you, but I'm pretty sure those models are copyrighted.

No, when you've legally registered, your name is linked to your key. Never had any problems with this.

Re: Updating Milkshape Without Loosing My Registration.
Well, if you have a valid key, it should work on all versions of Milkshape. At least, thats how it works for me. Simply download the newer version and I always run the registration thingy again, just to be sure.

Re: My Buggy Level :D
Well, dunno if it is possible to have so called 'sub models' (multiple meshes and skins in one model), like in half-life. If so, you can make two bodies for the buggy. One with just one dude, and one with your player inside as well. Not familiar with scripting, so I don't know how you set this all up.

but the hands are from Half Life Natural Selection....also the joints I think...but the animations are mine :) Ai, I'm part of the dev crew of Sven Co-op, another HL modification. I happen to know that the NS crew is very protective about their content. NOTHING may be used, not even for half-life m...

Re: XSI Mod Tool
It all depends how much polies you add to the mesh. XSI Mod Tool was created or modified for the development of Half-life 2 (Source Engine), if I recall right. It's quite similar to the older half-life 1 (Gold Source Engine) in many regards, so I'm pretty sure it will work.

Re: 3D engines
Well, I'm not the most active, but I've been lurking around the corners for a while now and I noticed that more projects are popping up then the first period I was around.
About bashing other programs and projects. I haven't noticed at all. I think this is one of the most welcome forums for that!

Re: Protecting Your Intellectual Property
It is legal evidence in court. But can you afford to take on big companies in court even if you're in the right. You still end up paying your own legal fees. The question is, is it worth it in the end, just for a model or a game you won't make much money from, if any at all and paying out thousands...

Re: Protecting Your Intellectual Property
Well, there is I think. Simply burn what you made on a CD rom. Post mail it to yourself. Perhaps twice. Don't ever open it! If you are in fact in a situation you're in court, you can pull out your mailed copy, in the envelope, with the date stamp of the mail company. It is legal evidence in court. A...

Indeed! Could be my eyesight though, but it does not look like it really points to where the crosshair normally would be. If you don't want a crosshair ingame, people will rely on the laser to be precise even more.Trougedoor122 wrote:very nice game, also the laser sight is a cool idea.
