how do i make a door or an entity open up when i press a key (spacebar) instead of the door opening when you press against it.

yet another problem...im making a hallway leading into a bigger room. i want to put a door where the room starts. i used a cut brush to make the entrance. when i put the texture for the door, the cutbrush obviously deletes it. how can i make entrances w/o cutbrushes? or make doors...
