A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away...

Just came aroud to see if the engine and everybody was still alive and kicking. Good to see that it is as RF was the only free engine I ever made any progress with. In fact it's better than most cheap engines even. Even if I never finished a single RF game. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and mad...

Re: warhammer 40k

I run my own legion but it's basically Fabious Bile with a lot of unstable mutation marines, and mark of khorne. Havocs, defilers, rhino's pretty balanced but extremely effective for chaos. Only limits I can think of off the top of my head for combat patrol sized games is pretty much no characters w...

Re: Abbadon: Paradise of Darkness

It's also the name of a special character in Warhammer 40K. Don't think anyone owns a license on the name.

Re: warhammer 40k

I avoid forgeworld like the plague having dealt with their models doing commission work they require a lot of how to say it...correction with files, and greenstuff.

On top of that they charge and arm and a leg for everything.

Re: 3D engines

I've used Antiryad it has some nice features, and some missing features. Not a lot of activity so it's a real solo ninja operation.

Re: warhammer 40k

Standard table size is 6' x 4' with about 25% terrain coverage. I play Tyranids, Dark Eldar, Orks, Imperial Guard, Chaos, and Daemonhunters. In total around 4000pts worth of Tyranids, 5000pts worth of dark eldar, 2500pts of Orks, 3000pts of Imperial Guard, and I don't even want to know how much Chao...

I think I know what your looking for. You might want to play some "Metal Gear Solid" games because thats the image that comes to mind reading your concept. You seem to have a decent time frame for game development however I do not know how skilled your team is. Scripting will be your easiest task. H...

Actually I think Pickles made a wizard style game demo a long while back called "Druid" I believe. Do a search and you may find it.

My hats off to you guys...

Just downloaded the latest version of Reality Factory and played through the demo's. You guys have really brought things a long way since where RF was when I first began.

Depends on how well you know your tools. You only have to do something once. After that it's easy because you know how you did it the first time. It's doing it for the first time thats tricky.

My experience with cutbrushes has definitely been bad. However anything that can be done with a cut brush can be done with a regular brush. Between all the shapes, and sizeds of brushes in RFEditPro there is no shape that cannot be built with a little thinking. Good for people like myself who played...

I started in modeling over 5 years ago probably closer to 10 years now. However I've always been artistic, and like to draw, paint, etc. First off always texture your models. Start the models simple, using phototextures. For example a sword, just grab a photo off the net, model it, and then phototex...

Well lets be real honest. Without a 50 man development team, and 2 years of 80 hour weeks your just never going to come close to Halo 3. Heck probably never going to come close to Halo 1. Even 20 people working in their spare time will slowly but surely fall further and further behind current standa...

Well I've been around the block and worked with a couple of dozen different free engines, and a few commercial engines. There is no perfect game engine all of them require fiddling, and work arounds.

However RF is by far still the easiest to use engine out there.

It's just a social visit as I'm too tied up to work on any projects at the moment. I miss the good old days when I could spend an entire day just playing around with textures on a level. Anyway it's good to see old faces around. I was just bored taking a break surfing around and said "I wonder whats...
