Re: Metal Force
Well, it could be bad for framerate if you inserted another flat ground piece to put the blend texture on. Or, you could just stick it on the texture you already have. I can't see what's on the other side of the arch thing, but if it's just another rock face, you could make something like this. http...

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
I asked the author, and I got his permission to use some really cool textures. You remember when I was talking about an ancient temple level? If you don't there's a level in a big ancient temple,in which the terrorists have planted bombs all over the place and your mission will be to deactivate all t...

Re: Started more advanced work as a 3D artist
And those are? Balls with nice textures? Looking nice, but it's not hard to achieve on 3D Max What he said. Sorry, but it's not really "advanced". They just look like... spheres. With textures. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_shrug.gif Try modeling something more complex....

Re: Google Chrome
I would be using Chrome right now if it weren't for Firefox's extension system. I love my Adblock Plus and Downthemall, and couldn't bear to part with them.

Re: New Monitor
Yeah, I wanted to go with a better brand like Samsung or something, but for the price range that was in (about $200) this had the best reviews.
I'm not complaining though. I've had this piece-of-crap 17 inch CRT for way too long. Besides, it's dying on me, which is what prompted me to buy a new one.

For MIDI, yes. http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/ .Mid files are basically the "schematics" of a song - it contains note position, pitch, length, velocity, and also what MIDI instrument and channel each note uses. It actually contains no audio information. It uses whatever sounds are assi...

Re: what kind of music for a game?
I'm not voting for any particular option there since it doesn't even cover half of the possible music genres.
I like DrumNBass, Metal, Epic Orchestral, and also a bit of chillout electronica.

You can ignore the version number "v1.3.2b" at the end, it's just my naming scheme for telling them apart on in my project directory.

I'm pretty sure that's not the glock from CS. If it is, they re-skinned it and messed with the actual model a bit.

Re: Musician Wanted!
Alright Kiji, here's the first version of the desert theme I've been working on the past couple days. The drums at the beginning that play through the song are latin, but the shanai (the flute-like instrument in that fades in with the strings) is more of a middle-eastern thing. Let me know what you ...
