I'm not so sure joing the syndicate is such a good idea, Marty. Those guys can be pretty rough.

It has become more than obvious that the hardwork, hosting, bandwidth, and goodwill that my company has put towards this community over the past several years has been a complete waste of time. I don't believe it has become 'obvious', but, as I said before, it seemed to me that too many people got ...

That thread needed to go. Dan was stepping over boundaries that could cause more trouble than he'd really want to face. Much as I like Dan, it was disappointing to see how quickly so many people were anxious to turn on Mike. Much as I've loved RF, Alan and I are trying to see about getting the cash ...

Resource Hacker is how I changed the icon on my demo. Worked just fine with rf.exe. It is a good program, but more often than not, it will corrupt an exe, due to different compression methods. You can restore, though.

To me, modelling is easier in anim8or, but texturing is easier in Milkshape. I model in anim8or, then texture in Milkshape.

The trouble with freewebs if that they have a file limit of fifty files for a free user. You may be well under the 50mb storgae limit, but be at the 50 file limit. I like them, since they only have you put up a text link to them, but that is a problem.

It seems to be the energizer thread. Now, if all this energy were directed in a positive fashion. . . Mike has hit it on the head. RF doesn't exist to compete with the Serious Engines and Unreal Engines of the world. . .it exists to let joes like me take a stab at something I only thought was a drea...

You all have to know that this demo is just beautiful. I am proud to say that Alan gave me the chance to do some work on it with him. Take a moment and download it. if you have a 56K modem, get yourself a download manager, sit back and wait. It is more than worth it. In my opinion, the most beautifu...

Thank you Quest. I want to apologize for my ranting in this post. I've just never experienced that kind of excessive issues with RF. It must have been a solar eclipse or something, because it runs fine now. The main reason I wanted to know the settings was to complete the little utility I have attac...

Rebuilt my level and it runs good. Only crashed once, when I had a modelattributes entity in the level, trying make my ramp slippery by setting it to frozen. Ran once without crashing, but I didn't slip on the ramp. Then it crashed. I removed the entity and ran it several times without crashing. Lad...

Hmm, I just looked and there are other, scattered references to settings in the faq's, but no complete list. I see we can use 16 Bpp, but the other two confuse me. What are the allowed settings? Also, I reinstalled 072A, and with no changes whatsoever, the tech demo runs just fine. I'll try to rebui...

Okay, from the rffaq on Terry's site: Q. What is D3d24.ini and what should it say? A. It tells Direct X to make certain video modes, right now it should work with 16 16 That is the last d3d24.ini I am familiar with. Now, most of the settings seem to be just on/off: CompressTextures = 0 FSAntiAliasin...
