Using Paint.net I used the Magic Wand to select the letters as Destron stated. Once I had most of the pixels in the letters selected I filled the selection with black and then reversed the selection and filled it with white. That created a mask which I put as another layer. I then proceed to zoom in...

I've used Gimp but hated it's user interface. From what I can tell Paint.net has all the power of Gimp plus a better user interface. I'm curious as to what features Gimp has that Paint.net doesn't? Before answering be sure to check out Paint.net's plugins.

I imported your file in to Milkshape but found that the hands and legs of Sonic were not attached so I didn't bother creating an actor file. I would also like to warn you about using copyrighted content in your game, Sonic is a copyrighted character and Sega could sew if you use that model in a game.

I agree, you can make them look better with better textures, but why does somebody buy a model just to rework it? The reason I bought them is because I don't have the patience or skill to make good looking models. I know how to use the modeling programs but I just can't sit at my desk for hours wor...

It's cool that you want to help, but I don't know if it is a good idea to come to a game contest with content that can be bought from a site - or freely downloaded. I understand what you are saying but they are already using a rendering engine that is "freely downloaded" and made by others. Also, t...

Excuse my previous post, I didn't realize you weren't using RF. But if you need models I can help. I own all the model CDs from THIS site and will be willing to join your team and convert them to whatever format is needed for the game. Here are some pictures of some of the models you may want: http:...

also, wat does NFO and KEY have to do with MOT and BDY? NFO and Key files are the 3ds Max body and motion files that are created when using the G3D 3ds Max exporter plugin. You can use Actor Studio to change these files in to an .ACT file. An .ACT file is just a virtual file system that contains .BD...

GD1, no hard feelings. I was a little agitated that you came down so hard on Jet3d for no apparent reason and I did miss read your statement that said "If you have a chance to check it out, then you should." as "I haven't had a chance to check it out but I should." Guess I should read more carefully...

According to QoD and Andy, as long as the RF license is honored, nothing stops us from doing so. That would still take programmers away from the Jet3d engine, the ideal situation would be someone from the RF community stepping up and porting RF to Jet3d. The Jet3d team will give them all the suppor...

the Jet3D developers have been talking trash about how one day their engine will be modern for several years. and yet it is still being updated to "compete" with "modern engines". I wouldn't call it talking trash, just stating the goals of the Jet3d development team. I never put down others peoples...
