Re: Omnicrab -- SV2.0
Hey, thanks much for the positive feedback, guys! The first enemy is modeled and textured, and I'll probably have it animated and in the game by tomorrow night. Should be pretty easy to animate since it hasn't got limbs- it's a sort of rolling seedpod with spikes. In game they'll attack in swarms an...

Omnicrab -- SV2.0
Everyone remembers those weird tadpole-looking crustaceans called Triops, or whatever they were, right? The ones where you get a kit with a little tank and some freeze-dried eggs and all you have to do is add water and they hatch after a while? Well, it was that idea that inspired my current game pr...

Re: Widescreen resolutions
Good find, man! I tried this before, but I never turned off fullscreen so it just kept crashing, (Anyone know why?) and I gave up. Wait so is it run in a window? Sort of. It's not a window really, like there aren't any brackets or anything, but you can see the desktop around the edges. Cool for pers...

Re: Empty Brushes Cause Collision Problems
Thats pretty strange. Could be a bounding box problem? If the level is only a few texels deep it could act a little weird. Perhaps if the player spawned in with the bounding box already intersecting your background brushes you wouldn't be able to tell until you came to an edge, or something. EDIT Ah...

Re: Full Action Is Back with new concept!
Sweet, man. I'll be very interested to see where you take this. My current project is a side-scroller as well. I'm not using a scripted player, though. I just messed with the INIs until it worked. Not smart enough for scripting.

Lol, I wasn't even sure. Glad I could help, though.
Also: Awesome news about equity. I've got some buddies that will be very pleased to hear of that.

Re: How does it look so professional?
Not using Milkshape for animating would be my first step. I don't know how Virgil's animations were done, but I would use something that has tools for inverse kinematics. Procedural animation is just too much of a hassle. For all my more complex animations I've been using Maya. RF doesn't support IK...

Re: 3D animation
Look into the Unreal exporter plugins for Maya PLE. It seems like I remember someone using that to make models and animations for Torque, and a similar approach might work for this, too. Free is always better.

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
Nice solid design for your levels. They're gonna be looking real slick when you've finished doing all the lighting. I'm definitely looking forward to the demo.

Really nice work, man. I'm on dialup, so I didn't get a chance to download your demo from somewhere with better speed until recently. I'm really impressed with your game mechanics. Very nice.

Re: SV2.0's BogBug (untitled WIP)
Lol, I dunno about Spielberg, but thanks to both of you for the comments.Probably more like future film school dropout. Anyway, with school starting again and work picking up it's been going pretty slow. Might have some fresh screens pretty soon though.
