Re: Metal Force
Very impressive work! it's inspiring me to try and get back on track with my own project. Your animations are very nice. I love the weapon designs, very inspired. Your little weapon test video reminds me of the days when games had all sorts of creativity, which is a time I hope will come back to the...

Re: Computer Upgrades
Thanks for the input. I think I will just go for a graphics card upgrade as my old 8600GT seems to be having slight trouble with dual monitors. Windows tells me to get rid of transparency or change to classic display mode as current graphic settings are affecting performance. Not to mention a nice n...

Computer Upgrades
Hello all! I have a few computer questions here. I am curious if I am just greedy for speed or am in need of a pc upgrade. I currently have a desktop with 4GB 667MHz ram, a 256MB GDDR3 Geforce 8600GT Overclocked, a 250GB 7400RPM HDD with 16MB cache, Core 2 Duo 2.13Ghz with 4MB L2 cache (1066FSB). I ...

Re: Caligari Truespace No More
I wouldn't really say that trueSpace was all that bad. It is a little lacking in the animation areas and since version 4 it has had IK with bones. It is a lot cheaper than other software out there(Maya, 3DS Max, XSI Softimage all $1000+) and it focused on modeling as an art not a series of button an...

Re: LCD Monitor Going Bad?
I have just had a terrible experience with refurbished technology. I got a G'z one type S phone last year it worked for 9 months and the ringer started to die, I swapped it for a refurbished unit through Verizon and it only lasted a little over three months and the warranty period for the refurbishe...

Re: Caligari Truespace No More
This is a sad day. It always seems that M$ never fails to ruin good things. If caligari didn't let themselves fall victim to greed and take a seat on the M$ money train I bet they would still be in business today. TrueSpace is one of my favorite programs and now it's completely gone from the market....

Re: Temporary Leave Sign Out Sheet
I will be gone for an unknown amount of time. Life is getting a little too crazy and I need to get things under control. See you all later.

Re: LCD Monitor Going Bad?
So I figured out my solution to the problem. I bought an Acer 23" H233H and am using dual monitors until the old one possibly dies. I didn't want to take a chance of being without my desktop so I splurged on a new one. It's a very beautiful monitor with amazing color. Not to mention it makes pl...

LCD Monitor Going Bad?
I think my monitor is slowly dying and I would like a second opinion as its only 2 years old. The other day my monitor freaked out while shutting the computer down and went black, while the rest of my pc rebooted the monitor displayed an all checkerboard patter which I have never seen it do ever bef...

Re: IOTW
What if our game project isn't going to be designed for RF but we use RF as a prototyping tool to test render environments/models? I will be waiting for RF2 to develop my game. So are prototype screens acceptable? My models will probably be very high polygon count for RF to handle and thus the image...

Re: IOTW
I agree, RF stuff should be the staple, but we also shouldn't discriminate against other art. I go to gamedev.net everyday just to see what people are working on. An images section may help boost the community just by having a centrally located place for images. That's just an idea though.

Re: Editor Screenshot
Ah ok, I trust that it will formulate to be cross platform then. One thing that I find to be a very important aspect of RF2 is its platform independence. If it can run on any platform, it will draw in an entire new crowd of game makers. As of now I don't know of any powerful game creation suite that...

Re: Editor Screenshot
That looks nice. It looks a little too much like M$ office 2007 though in my opinion though. Looks like its easy to use though, so long as it is I like it. I haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet. I would say that to use prexisting software for an editor ,so long as it does what we need, is a go...
