Re: Help- control over texture- example inside

Help- control over texture- example inside
Im not sure how to do this- I can apply a texture like this: http://i42.tinypic.com/qnsejc.jpg But I cant make the texture map in this way: http://i40.tinypic.com/2u8uqog.jpg The texture ends up mapped wherever. Is it possible to UV map the bolt and control how the texture is mapped to the scene?

Re: Can a 16bit mobo run next gen games?
MakerOfGames , youve answered my question thoroughly. I have mucked around with building computers. I took a course in computer technology but that was under compulsion. Im good at building and fixing but I hate doing it. So an HP or Acer is where Im going to go. I dont need excessive power, just a ...

Re: Can a 16bit mobo run next gen games?
oooook! :? Thanks for the information (all the millions and terabyte parts too, Im not good with numbers). So the 16-bit is no good. Does it DRASTICALLY effect speed during game play or is it just during loading time that the speed stinks? As long as I get a minimum of 28 frames per second, I dont r...

Can a 16bit mobo run next gen games?
I just found out why a new Dell is going to cost so little. Its got a 16bit mobo. Its all I really need though as I try to develop a game more than I actually play games anymore but if a 16bit is going to ham things up, does anyone have any info theyd like to share? Please dont remind me its a dull ...

Re: Importing a mesh as geometry- any suggestions?
Actor geometry renders faster but collision checking is slow BSP renders slower but collision checking is faster than Actor. IS the collision checking REALLY slow? If it is, than ill stick to BSP. Im more concerned about in-game speed and smooth collision. So I guess its better to stick with BSP. Iv...

Importing a mesh as geometry- any suggestions?
Building with RFeditor took a while (matter of fact it took as long as Ive ben a part of the forum to build a small canyon leading into a water plant...), but for flexibility I need to manipulate vertices. I read that a mesh can be imported and used as geometry. Is 3DSMAX the ONLY option for importi...

Re: Hello! Im new here. Looking for a level building tutorial
Not to sound like a complete idiot, but does that mean in the future when using Equity, all Ill need is a mesh and the skeleton can be built WITHIN Equity? That would be utterly fantastic. By the way I did succeed in getting the bones into the mesh and into the Equit program. Animating with Blender ...

Re: Hello! Im new here. Looking for a level building tutorial
I use Blender and so far Ive managed to get a mech without animation data to load into Equity. Build and UVmap your model in Blender and export as .COB (Truepsace) format. Load the .COB file into Lithunwrap and get all the textures fitted correctly, they may be a little off. Export FROM Lithunwrap u...

Re: Hello! Im new here. Looking for a level building tutorial
Downloading now. Will there be any support now or in the future in Equity for DirectX models with texture and animation data included? EDIT: I frequently use Deled and Blender, both export to directX with correct plugins and settings. I have used MS3D but always had trouble with the directX export f...

Re: Hello! Im new here. Looking for a level building tutorial
Hello bernie and thankyou, Im glad to be here!
Im currently using Truespace 3.2 the free version. Ive gotten Truegene from this site I think. This is still all new to me, what is Equity? Is it another program that goes with the RF engine?
Anyway thanks a million, I will return with results!

Hello! Im new here. Looking for a level building tutorial
Hello all! Im new to the RFeditor, Ive recently migrated over from FPSC since I cant get a thing done with it. I was wondering if there is a simple tutorial that shows how to use the Rfeditor step by step. i.e From making a room connecting it with hallways, changing the room from a square to maybe a...
