Re: Halo 2 and the new Microsoft LIVE which killed it?
One thing: even if you love Halo, don't use Games for Windows Live.
Not that that's gonna help you, but it's my opinion.

if the thing is to learn HTML: there are enough tutorials on the web. If I'd know something of positioning (that's a long time ago), I'd tell.

Re: Help with Html
When creating professional looking sites, I have to admit I do that too. It's really easy. I suggest BlueVoda and some people love NVU. You should take a look at one.ardentcrest wrote:Why not go get yourself a free WYSIWYG web editor, let the program do the hard work.

Re: Bump mapping and mazes
There is a tool for quake maps that allow you to draw your level as a 2d bitmap and the color of the walls determines where windows and doors will be placed. You can use this tool to create a .MAP file and then import it in to the RF editor, might save you some time. http://user.txcyber.c...

Here's a full page. It's CSS, though, not only HTML. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Template For Adaox - M4litb</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us" /> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="...

Re: Google Chrome
It is, when you have only 512 megs, like me. I have only 128mb on one of my pc's. And I only upgraded this one a few months ago from 512mb to 1gb. I suspect there are a lot of pcs out there with 512mb and less. So 300mb is very wasteful. With thought you can use much less memory when writing progra...

Re: Google Chrome
I love firefox... But it crashes too much when watching lots of videos. I've also seen it taking up to 300 some meg of memory, when I've already closed out videos. It has poor memory management. If they will adapt some of the background technology google chrome is using, maybe not the look. I think...

Re: Google Chrome
It's not that bad! I'm using it right now, and I guess you all know these Javascript alert spammer website (which I just made one myself :)), and you can choose that the website doesn't display them anymore. Very handy. I have to find a way through the interface though. I'll write a small review abo...

Re: Python/Java?
I'll take a look at C++/C# then. Thanks for this information! EDIT: I took a look at some code of both, and it seemed to be that C# looks more like JavaScript and less hard to learn than C++. But apparently C++ is used more? What one is the easiest? Or isn't there much difference? I've also noticed ...

Ok.
I guess I made my decision: I'm going for a normal laptop.
Thanks for all the information, though. It really helped me decide.

Re: Python/Java?
Thanks for taking the time to put such a big post together, Jay.
I guess I will have a look at Python and Simkin. Isn't S.C.U.R.F. based on Simkin?
So a scripting language, what can it do? Because I don't really know how scripting languages differ from programming languages.
