Wolfang:My new game project!

Post by vrageprogrammer » Wed Oct 31, 2007 5:30 pm

I joined the RF forum recently but I have been using RF for almost a year now. Well I think i've just got the hang of it and am now going to start my first game.
I decided to name it Wolfang!
THE PLOT:
The game takes place in NY.(Very very tough to model...But i'll try to make something similar.)
You are a secret undercover policeman who has just been bitten by a wolf.(I plan to indicate that using a cutscene.)
In the day you walk around arresting and tranquilizing bad guys tying to maintain law and order. But, at night you transform into a wolf and lose control. The I plan to continue the story from there.

FEATURES:
Day and night system.
Transformation
Mountable Cars
Epic Boss Battles
Cutscenes
A well modeled city.

Be sure to check out the pics!
(BTW: I have used an actor which is not mine-I plan to change that. Also, some of the textures are not mine...Plan to fix that.)

Any Suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you RF and all members of this forum!
one more thing- the gun doesn't stick to the main characters hand and the sky is very buggy.

It looks terrific so far, vrageprogrammer. Is the character model your own? He's nice. Reminds me of Duke Nukem.

For the sky go with a skydome rather than a skybox. You'll be much happier with it.

As far as reducing the size, that is a tough one. If you use avi files, they can be pretty big. Size was the main reason bronzegargoyle never posted Telepath. It was very big!

In your RF install is the RF Manual. You'll find it in the start menu. Part way down in the menu on the left, you will find Heads Up Display. This will get you started in the right direction.

Thanks Steven8,
But I have one more question if you don't mind-
Can you tell me the steps I should take to create player transformation.

256 mb isn't too big. I have a game on my computer called Sid Meyers: Civilization 4 beyond the sword and it takes up 2.35 GB [game and expansion pack] on my computer, and the save files alone take up between 100 MB and 2 GB depending on how far you are, how much of the world you have explored, who you have dominated etc. so I consider that a huge game

Not too big for a game itself, but big for uploading to be downloaded. People balked at the texture collection I uploaded because it was like 137 mbs.
