Marble Madness clone

Post by polaris30 » Sat Sep 24, 2005 10:07 pm

Hi all!

back in the 80's there was a cool game called marble madness...
it was before its time...

non- violent, yet lots of action, and fun to play...

here you can learn more about it...:

http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?let ... me_id=8618

and here:

http://www.bodenstaendig.de/marble/

and here it is , with the MAME version if you want to try it out...

....

Well, anyways, I am going to try doing a remake of it...

I already have some levels designed, and some player models in game...

I need some control help, and perhaps some help on getting bad guys to just push the player off the edge...
other than that , I am able to make all the map booby traps myself,...

the intended audiance will be young children - very intoxicated adults....

the non violent nature will make it cool for all audiances :)

I intend on building a full arcade version for my home... i will Post all the bluprints and instructions for others to build their own too :)

looks like I can get the HAPP ball controllers pretty cheap... the only other thing would be a player start button, and perhapsa jump button 8)
If i can get RF working with a LAN, I might make a 2 player cabinate, with seperate monitors for each player...

BTW
it will not be an exact clone... the artwork will be much more updated...
there will be a Jump... and also it will be much faster pace.

I will post a demo as soon as i have a few levels linked together.

players will be going thru Dungeon, Space, dungeons & Dragons themed worlds to keep it interesting...

trying to build something with the new physic_alpha version of RF, I had he same idea (with less truly emotional enthusiasm than you)...

Do you want to use the new physic or the old scripted one? Check my aBallInABox demo in my download page:
