that bloody wall seems a bit too redundant. the texture could be edited. As for many of the models you could switch the backfaces around so that they are all one face side. Textures apply better that way.
The hud seems a bit out of place the way it is.
anyway, good luck.

about the bloody wall, it might look better if you just used the normal wall texture and then use wall decals that represent the blood spots. This way you can also decide where the blood goes to, and this looks a lot more realistic, and you could even make it so that for example a skeleton or dead body is lying around and there is blood on thje floor around it. You could even use this as a hint to the player that he now is in a dangerous area.
Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.

Wow that looks great!

If you need music or models, talk to me. I'd be glad to help out.

For a shotgun spray of bullets, make the shotgun bullet model, then (in the modeling program) make a few more spread out, but pointing in the same direction, might not be what you need, but that is a solution I can come up with.
Over 3 years (has it been that long?) and just now I noticed the day and month of my birthday were switched. Whoops!

Some 2d games I made, haven't made anything in a year though O.o

Thanks for the feedback. As for your comment GMer, thanks for the idea but what i wanted was the bullets to start in the same position and spread outwards as they travel forwards. thanks for trying though. here are some more screenshots of the same level but the textures are slowly getting replaced by my own homemade textures.

this is the new crate texture with my new wall texture behind it:

Too bad there can't be animated bullets, then my idea would work (it would work if you built your own weapons system)

I've been working on the graphics a little more and these are some screenshots of muzzle flashes, ricochets, smoke and explosions:

Excellent muzzle flashes and explosions! What program did you use to make them?

I just used photoshop. I'm really busy with school at the moment so I may not have any news about the game for a while.

mmm... photoshop. I use GIMP myself (the price tag of "free" is the good part).
If your textures ever seem to dark, adjust the "brightness/contrast" setting in photoshop (that is the name of the setting on a macintosh, anyway).
I also use the built-in image editor for Game Maker v7, it can't handle big pictures though.
