Making your own vids run on startup [SOLVED (kinda)]

Post by psYco » Fri Mar 23, 2007 11:40 pm

Ive just finished the opening cutscene that has the game name and introduces the menu (they are stongly related in the fact that the last frame of the cutscene is used as the bitmap background for the menu) so I have this video and it is 25MB (since I think it has to be an AVI its a mere 2.5MB when its a MPEG) anyway I tried to replace the rfsplash by simply putting it in the right folder and changing the name but then RF wouldent even startup, so I changed the name and defined it in the INI editor, but RF still wont start... :?

Does anyone know how to get this to work? is there a specific resolution I need to have it at?

any help would be great, im trying to finish my demo by tomorow so im trying to get the menu and cut finished quickly
thanks :D

:EDIT:
Here is the full stats of the vid:
resolution 720x576
frames per sec 25
region thing PAL
bitrate 28800

it also has an audio backtrack:

bitrate 1536
channels 2
:EDIT:

:EDIT: :EDIT:
Well I managed to get it working by converting the AVI to a GIF and then using that, that DOES mean I have no sound but it also makes for a quicker startup anyway im happy with it for now...
