Metal Band List :)

Post by metal_head » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:25 pm

I decided to make a list of some bands that I personaly like, everyone who likes metal, can post his favorite bands also :)

so let's start,I'm not a big fan of the black metal,so I won't be listing any black metal bands:

Slipknot
Diecast
Soil
Soilwrok
Metallica
Divine Heresy
System Of A Down
Scar Symmetry
Coal Chamber
Fear Facotry
Fall Out Boy <---No,no,no :D I'm kidding
Dope
Disturbed
Static-X
OOMPH!
Ill Nino
GodSmack
Bleeding Through
Finch <--- I like only one song of this group,I'm not even sure if that's a metal group, the song is INK

That's it for now,I can't think of any more since I'm a little sleepy right now.

My list

Post by Juutis » Sun Oct 26, 2008 11:15 pm

Alright! A music thread! I love these. Especially when it's about metal.

Great bands you got there. I'll give ya some of my favorites:
Diecast
Wow, these guys have been listening to Killswitch Engage (One of my all time favorites). But I guess that's the thing with metalcore. They all sound the same. :)
Soilwork
And: In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy. The great Swedish melodeath quartet. I especially like Arch Enemy and Dark Tranquillity. In Flames and Soilwork have gone too mainstream for my taste in the last few years. Their old stuff still rocks, though.

Diablo
Hypocrisy (yet another Swedish melodeath group)
Insomnium
Lamb of God
Machine Head (Their last album, The Blackening, is made of pure awesomeness. Definitely worth the money)
The Haunted
Strapping Young Lad
Meshuggah

And a bit heavier stuff:
Gorefest
Vader
Kataklysm
The Berzerker

And a fairly fresh acquaintance to me. So far I'm loving them:
Omnium Gatherum ('Nail' in Youtube)

Not a hardcore metal fan, I like more of the main stream bands such as:

Guns N' Roses (before Slash left)
Queensryche
Ozzy
Mötley Crüe
Anthrax
Skid Row
Metallica (everything before and including the Black Album)
System of a Down
And can't forget Led Zeppelin which was one of the first heavy metal bands.

I didn't include the two bands I like best in my list. They both sing in Finnish so I didn't want to list them, but now I thought that some of the metal lyrics are already incomprehensible, even if sung in English. So what the heck, here goes:

Stam1na:
Paha Arkkitehti (Ignore the clip in the beginning, it was the only video with decent quality)
Susi-Ihminen

Mokoma:
Nujerra Ihminen
Takatalvi

I understand the lyrics is a major part in music but I really hope the language barrier isn't too much for you guys.

Stam1na
Really cool group,I saw both the videos, too bad in Bulgaria there aren't any metal bands except:
Episode or "Епизод" in bulgarian. (the song's about one of the bulgarian kings)
but I like stam1na much more! :)
Artery <-- theese guys sing in english.

aaand...I don't know any other metal bands from Bulgaria :D the others are rock bands.

Saddly,Bulgaria is home of one of the most terrible music in the whole world :(
It's called "Chalga" or "Pop-Folk". All the metals (including me) hate this style. But not only the metals, there are so many people against this style. This type of music is so terrible, that I can't listen to it for more than 3 minutes (no,really) it annoys me and the same is for every normal person in Bulgaria. The sad thing is taht chalga singers are mostly pornstars and everything about that style is so UNCULTURED,so terrible, all the people, who listen to chalga are some sort of idiots.
Here's a little something from that piece of crap I'm talking about (a f*ckin' rip-off) sorry,I just get very nervous when I talk about Pop-folk :( : http://www.vbox7.com/play:e6adcf2f The song's called "We'll FOLK YOU!!!" (wtf). Oh,yeah and that's maybe the best pop-folk song,because it's a rip-off.

Episode or "Епизод" in bulgarian. (the song's about one of the bulgarian kings)
Dunno if I'm tired or something, but I lol'd at that song. And especially the video.

Two more bands:
Pain
DevilDriver

And yeah, I can't but agree that the Pop-folk stuff is horrible, absolutely horrible.

Well,it's bulgarian stuff  I don't actually like this band :)
That's the problem in our country: too much Pop-Folk and no metal at all :(
