Is there anyone around here?

Post by Grok » Tue May 30, 2017 9:33 pm

I found Reality Factory recently and think it looks like it could be great fun to play around with.

Here is a film from running around in a maze I built (my own textures and weapon model), which is about what I can do with the program this far.

This place seems a bit deserted. Is anyone around?

People pop in from time to time. Put up a few posts and people will post back.

That is pretty impressive why don't you send a demo ? What is the story behind your game project ?

OK. Good to see there are at least a few souls around :D

@accid99
It's not really a project. I'm just trying to see if I can get the hang of how to use the program. Maybe I'll get around to do something a bit more playable later.
So, this far I can build a level with rooms you can walk between. I can make textures and get them into the game. And I can do some rudimentary lightning. I also have made an act model (the gun) and gotten that into the game (with a little bit of cheating). :)

Falls a bit short of demo worthiness I think :)
Besides that I've not yet learned how to compile the stuff into a game.

So are any of you guys doing a project in RF?

Tried the demo. Very nice. Lot of different stuff in there.

Looks like you could make an interesting game based on what you have gotten this far. Good job. :)

It is only going to get better with your video. Use Fraps since your vid is laggy. I hope the best for the future of your game. I also hope a new RF comes out this year.

The next time I make a video with a walk-through I'll make sure to have a better quality on the recording. :)

I might take some time until I do the next. I have a lot of different things going on.

I have just done 2 videos on using the Misfit Model 3D, model making software.

The software have been out of development for a long time, but I really like the simplicity of it.

If you have need of some simple model for your project, I might give that a try for practice. I'm several out of practice (and was very limited to begin with).
Like I said it looks like you have an interesting game going in your project.
