i uninstalled then reinstalled RF to c:\RealityFactory and it says the same thing, it says looking for C:\media\levels\default.txl. (i can force the editor to open because it gives me a screen that allows me to select the texture pack manually but i cant change it so that it finds it automatically) Is it that i am using vista basic sp1?

You need to open the editor and go to the Level Options and set the path for the Texture Library. Mine is set to C:\Program Files\RealityFactory\media\levels\default.txl.
