Try videosetup.exe with DirectX 6. It does not work in my computer with DX7.
Possible you have a corrupt menu.ini file. Try reinstalling it.

I changed to direct3d6 bhut still no preview.
Where do I find the menu.ini file?

I found the menu.ini file, do I have to reinstall rfedit in order to get a new menu.ini or can I just extract it, if I have to reinstall rfeditpro will I loose all the files I've created?

I opened the realityfactory.log and found only this:
at the top.
Previously it had more, see above post, so I assume that it has to do with the driver in my comp. So the question then is: what driver do I need.
I have the NVIDIA 3D driver

Could you post your pc specs, with operating system? Also try the OpenGL driver.

No it doesn't, none of the demos work.
I have windowsXP NVIDA driver, plenty of ram and 300gb hd
I used all the display settings, 3d 7, 3d 6 and openGL. None work.

Have you got spaces in the directory names? RF doesnt like spaces. Try Installing directly to the root drive.

The RealityFactory.log shows only the line:
Is there a way to point RealityFactory to where the driver is? Is there a line in any of the .ini files that I can re-write to find the drivers?
Thanks all, hope I am not being a pain but I am really looking forward to being able to work with this program.

There are spaces in some your directory paths "Program Files" is one. It sometimes does cause problems. It's worth a try installing directly to c:\RealityFactory....
There is no problem with your spec. I run RF on a poor spec pc no problems I have no video card at all in my old pc its built in on the main board no shaders or anything just a basic spec win2k 1gb ram. I also run on win xp with gforce 6600 and on a new laptop running vista 32bit high spec pc and they all run ok.

Well, I reinstalled, made sure all the paths had no spaces, tried every videosetup there is and still doesnt work, I still get the "Searching for fullscreen driver" . All the files compile etc, like Ive posted before but I guess I'll have no luck with it.
I dont know where to specify the driver.
