If you haven't changed the directory layout, the bsp file should be placed in C:\RealityFactory\media\levels\rfeditpro1.bsp

I am having a similar problem. The Demo runs fine and the editor says that it compiles successfully, but when I compile and say test, it goes to the charecter /name select screen from the demo, and then when i choose someone it promptly crashes.

If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks

My little diagnostic ting says:

I've never gotten mine to preview as well, just go into your reality factory "install" sub folder and open up "character.ini" this is how you get RF to run when people play the game on the first level anyways. All you need to do is DONT check the box that says "preview in reality factory" instead just compile it and change the "start level" to: "thenameofyourlevel.bsp" and than run the game client. Make sure you do it to all the characters though:D

Hope this helps you out (btw bernie, now that i'm part of the forums I've gotta say, that gandalf picture is sweet)

Try installing/reinstalling it and make sure that you typed in the "start level" variable exactly how you typed it and that your compiled .bsp file is in the media\levels directory.

Hope this helps:D

is the menu item called "mainbackground.bmp?" if its not called this EXACTLY than it won't be registered, try checking that out if not than try changing the mainbackround variable in the "menu.ini" folder to the name of your picture, see if that works.

Install RealityFactory to "C:\RealityFactory" instead of "C:\Program Files\RealityFactory.
Windows Vista and above don't allow to save files in C:\Program Files\ and redirect these to the VirtualStore. Upon previewing, however, the editor will still look at the subdirectory in "C:\Program Files\RealityFactory" and hence won't find the level.
