Question about textures?

Post by jpmorrisii »

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I created my first floor of my game with different textures applied to different rooms. When I save my project and close the program, my textures are different when I reopen the program and my project file. My textures are .bmps at 256 x 256 pixels. What am I doing wrong?

Which program is 'the program'? Is it RFEditPro.exe, RealityFactory.exe RfPack.exe, etc? If it's in RFEditPro.exe in the 'Texture selection register card', then i think that's a bug, but one which doesn't affect how the texture looks like in the real game.

It must be a bug because I am using RFEditpro. Also, when review my game, some of the textures don't look as designed. Instead, I see 2/3 of the 5 rooms with a grey ceilings, walls, and floors.
Is there anything we can do?

Did you put your textures in a TXL file and tell RFEditPro where it is?
Are your textures a power of 2 (e.g 256x256, 128x128)?
Many Bothans died to bring you this signature....

Oh and i just thought about it... Do the textures have very similar names, like wall00813423412341 and wall00813423412342? That somehow confuses both the Level Editor and the Engine itself. The texture names should differ in the first 8 characters or so, that's what i have heard.

Well I use RfEditPro all the time and I have never come across this problem.

That is more than likely your problem.
