Error When Compiling Level

Post by dan6464 »

I downloaded reality factory and started the demo. It worked fine except for the screen flickering a little. Then, I went to RFEdit Pro and made a level. Just a simple box with my player start and setup inside. Next, I successfully compiled the level, selected my character and name, hit done and a window came up that said Reality Factory has stopped working and that windows was checking for a solution. It does this same thing every time. I tried reinstalling it but that didn´t work.

Please help.

This is obviously not a feature request. Please post in the correct forum.

For your issue, please read the E-Book which explains how to make a simple game with RealityFactory from scratch. It will answer a lot of your questions.

Look into your Realityfactory.log (which is located in the same directory that Realityfactory.exe is in). It usually tells you what is wrong. If in doubt, post the log here.

You attached the compile log to your original post. With "log" I meant your Realityfactory.log file. This will help us more. The compile itself seems to be ok.

C:\Program Files (x86)\RealityFactory\media\levels\rfeditpro12.bsp
Use the search feature of the board.
Install RF to C:\RealityFactory

I fixed it. I think it had something to do with the path it was in. What I did was uninstalled Reality Factory and then reinstalled it to c:\Reality Factory. And then I made a simple one room level and with the path set to c:\realityfactory\media\levels\rfeditpro1.map, I successsfully started it. Also the flickering of the screen when I start the level is gone. Sorry about posting it in the wrong section, this was my first time using this site.
