I can't install IniEditor

Post by realgaming135 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:30 am

When you install RealityFactory, you get a folder with tools. In that folder, there should be a IniEditor.exe. But every time I install RealityFactory, there suddenly pops a window up, and it says:

Error compiling file for writing: C:\RealityFactory\tools\IniEditor

And then I can choose to abort the installing, retry installing the IniEditor or Ignore IniEditor and get a tool folder without IniEditor.
Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks

Okay, let me try in another way
If it's possible to fix it, please tell me how.
And if it's not possible to fix, please tell me what to do, if there is something to do. And if there's nothing to do, please tell me that. :)

Maybe your install file is corrupt, try re-downloading Reality Factory and installing.

Thank you for answering, and I tried to re-download reality factory, but it did not work :(
This time there was a diffrence, the error message did not pop up on my screen, but still no IniEditor.

Anything else I could do?

Never mind, I found a webpage on the internet where I could download it for reality factory. :)
I hope it's the right version, but I think it is, because I can open it now :D

Here's the webpage:
http://www.mediafire.com/rfinieditor

but thanks for trying to help anyway :)

Just now saw this. I forget how many times I've installed RF on my machines, but I've never seen this issue. My install this most recent time was missing the RFEditPro, and I got that from the RF tools section of the downloads. I thought that was strange. I haven't checked yet, but I will see if my INIEditor is missing.

Hmmm Same here I've installed RF dozens of times without any bother. I don't understand what is happening here at all. But in any case ini files can be altered easily enough without the ini editor. Ini files are only plain text files that can be altered with any text editor.

Hmm...Looks like it's an unknown problem

well, now it works from that webpage I downloaded it from. I don't understand why I can't install it with the RealityFactory main installer, but I can install it from that webpage. That's wierd :)

I checked. My ini editor is right there in the tools folder. That is strange. I also wonder why my level editor wasn't there. :?:
