Menu not Showin up

Post here if you have problems getting Reality Factory running on your machine. Please make sure you have the latest DirectX installed as well as updated drivers for your video & sound card before posting...

Menu not Showin up

i've just got a new PC and my menu's are not showing up, they show up for a split second then disappear.
i've had to run RF with the openGL driver but unfortunately some things don't show...this however did allow me to see the menu's
also i've played with the directX driver in preview mode (directly from RFeditpro) so i know this can't be the problem
i've downloaded the new drivers that quest has put up earlier, but still this made no difference

the log doesn't show anything peculiar either but i'll post it just to be onthe safe side

also my new Spec's are as follows:

3.0Ghz Processor
2.0Ghz Ram
Nvidia Geforce 6600 256Mb Vid Card.

has anyone else encounterd this problem or maybe know what could possibly be causing this to happen

I'm running the latest build of RF.

Sorry guys(i hate post bumping)

this is quite important to me as i need to use the DirectX driver
the problem just seems to be the menu,

if some one has an old default menu could someone post it PLEEEEASE

Well to be honest I don't know how to solve this problem. I had this error showing up once ago but it just went away by itself...

I am new here but I have had this problem as well. I still do. When I try and run the demo I run into this problem.

I prefer to use VSync when I can. I dont like the tearing or artifacting that I get otherwise. Some dont mind. I changed the .Ini. to have Vsync. When I did this the main menu would show up momentarily and then dissapear. The only workaround for me has been to change the Do Not Wait entry. Once I did that everything was fine.

Actually when I first did that it got rrid of the flickering menu too. But if turn on triple buffering I also lose half of the screen on the menu. Once I start a game it seems to work.
