You'll have to unzip them and they cant open up in all 3D programs, but they're decent quality and free. :3 pick one you like. Includes Game ready enemies, and several good weapons.

Very nice posting Kiji. Thanks a bunch for all your hard work. The character models at first looked too high poly for RF, but mostly they're very good!!!

Thanks. Lots of copying going on. I just hope it will help out those who cannot model too good.

Thanks mate.

EDIT: Found a free SWAT model: I think it is also game-ready: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/I ... ?id=327965
These models make me want to create a game where you kill hundreds of those creatures with only a shotgun :). Maybe I'll add a chainsaw to it too. GORE GORE GORE Mwuahaahahaah :!:
Ahem. Sorry

I feel like a total noob now, and yes I did RTFM, but I really don't understand why I can't build these character models into .act files. Do I need the modeling tool for it? Can anyone help me please?

Well that particular model is in .max 8 format . You need the program 3dsmax8 or later to load and export it as .nfo and .key files in order to build an actor file (.act). 3Dsmax doesn't come cheap.

I also have another model, but it only has a .nfo file, no .key, so that mean that I also need 3DSmax?
And if I have a .obj model, do I also need a .key file?

The .key file is for animations. If you have .nfo but no .key you can build an actor whithout animation. You can then decompile the actor and add animations using milkshape. If you have .obj you can import that into milkshape and export as .bdy and build an actor. Alternatively you can use blender and graywolf's exporter to build an actor.

Could someone possibly make .act files out of these, (I don't think I want to use 3d max, need $$ for the full one, right? , and I still don't know how to assign vertexs to bones easily...)
Over 3 years (has it been that long?) and just now I noticed the day and month of my birthday were switched. Whoops!

Some 2d games I made, haven't made anything in a year though O.o

Redistributing the models as ACT files will probably be against the model's license. The license probably only allows them to be used in the developer's artwork or game. If not then people would just collect all the models from Turbo Squid, convert them and sell them on a CD or make a new site with all the free models just to gain revenue from the ads on the page.

A way around this would be to have someone with 3dsmax become part of your development team then he can convert all the files for you. But a lone person can't just convert the files and distribute them.

They have free models and the ones they are selling look good and have a low price.
