Modeling a FPS gun

Post by Matte »

Hello, everyone! I want to create a game like Nirhis, but I was wondering how I should model the hands for weapons. All tutorials for gun modeling only cover the gun itself, but not the hands that hold the gun. Can someone explain how I have to attach them to the weapon and make them work with animations and everything? Thanks!

Here is a thought, look at the actors and scripts from Nirhis. You have all the game files and they are not protected. Open them up and see how it was done.

It wouldn't really show him how to start though, since its all the end product. You can learn the basic design though.
Tbh, making good low-poly arms that RF can support is fairly difficult. The first way I did it is through a 7 sided box that was for the wrist, and extruding fingers.

Not that you're the best person to give advice on modeling arms >.>
Once I was sad, and I stopped being sad and was awesome instead.

Nirhis is a game made with RF, below is a link to it's game thread but most of the links don't work so I wouldn't know where to get it.

I uploaded the Nirhis demo game to Mediafire as a temporary solution:

I'll start looking for a more permanent place to store the file.
