3ds max

Post by barnaly » Sat Jun 05, 2010 1:10 pm

Why are my models in 3ds max grey instead of coloured? I have imported Counter-Strike models in 3ds Max 2009 through MilkShape and on the tutorials I've watched on YouTube it showed the original models - with colors and stuff. But when I opened the models in 3ds Max it shows them grey, in the render too. Can anyone help??

You need to create a material and apply that to the model

I believe max applies a random colour (material) to each new object, which is why you see multi-coloured models when they're being made. Most programs just colour them grey, such as milkshape.
Once I was sad, and I stopped being sad and was awesome instead.
True story.

If a model has a preexisting material attached to it but max can't find the texture file for it, it will simply be grey.
