Somethings not right...

Post by eloc12 » Sat Nov 06, 2010 5:35 am

I'm trying to use Google Sketchup 8 to make a model then export it as a .dae file and import it into blender. But when i do nothing appears! Anyone know what to do?

DAE is Collada format. Are you choosing the right import script? Is the model geometry compatible with Blender (e.g triangulated)?
Many Bothans died to bring you this signature....

What version of Blender are you using? I tried Blender version 2.45 and was able to import a DAE model from SketchUp 8 using the COLLADA 1.4 importer, the COLLADA 1.3.1 importer did not work. I tried Blender version 2.5 alpha and when importing the DAE file I got a lot of messages stating some of the items in the format are not recognized and it only imported the basic shape without any modifications. I would suggest using MeshLab to convert the DAE to OBJ then import in to blender if need or just use Equity to make the model suitable for RF.
