Just a quick preview of the new actor attaching command (the helmet and jacket are attached via a script and adapt to the animations of the master actor):

Cool. Do they have to be predefined like pawn weapons? (actor preloading versus versatility)

Yes, they have to be predefined.


Fixed a problem in the Genesis lib that prevented loading TGAs from VFS pack files.
Added separate highlight images for the arrows in the inventory screen.

This looks awsome. What keeps the game from rendering the model under the jacket at all times. sometimes i have trouble with layered models.
also that is an awsome helmet and jacket.
how many polys? how did you make them look so good.

My guess is that he copied the polys from virgil's 'shirt' part and applied the FatBoy-Plugin (in Milkshape) with some small number like 0.1, it's what i always do when i create thinghs like chainmails and such. But the texture of the jacket is 1a quality, i think that's it what makes it look so good.

Ah yes, now that you mention it, fps, i had a problem with layered actors, too. I had a problem with which it would not render the tgas correctly, because i wanted to add a chainmail, and no matter what, it never rendered the tga correctly, and so it looked not as good as it could have been. What happend here?

I'm trying hard to get the release out this week. There are some minor last minute features I added that still need some testing. If I don't run into any problems I expect it to be ready by Friday or Saturday.

I cant wait, i want it now, but i have waited this long so im sure i can last a few more days, got lots of questions but they can wait till the release is done and out as i wont take your time up answering them.

I have just a small question: If I would install the new release, would I have to redo everything? Or will it just stay the way it is?

So I mean should I take a back-up of important files that I have edited before I would install the new version (that looks cool, btw)?

This release will be a complete RF installer. It will overwrite all existing files if you install it to the same directory as your current RF installation so you'd better back up your changes or install the new version to a different directory. All your resources should work with new release (except for the inventory which will need some minor adjustments). Levels will need to be recompiled due to the update of the entity definition file.
