This all sounds pretty good, but isn't PhysX restricted to Nvidia cards?

If you have a card that supports PhysX it will run on that special hardware, otherwise it will run on the cpu. So partly you're right but currently there's no hardware support on ATI cards anyway...

Thanks DM.i asked this question because he gave september 1 as the beta release date(its few day left) and i wondered why no progress updates have been made.

So I think i would get 0.76 for now :D .
Cheers.(sorry for english.)

We're all as excited as you. Just be a little patient, and QoD will tell us when he is done. We don't really use a progress percent, because lots of things can affect development times.

Yes, there is some progress :P

You can use 0.76 for now but you should not do any work on the menu, inventory, hud if you intend to upgrade later as these components will change quite a lot and your work would be in vain.
Digitalboy wrote:ps.Latest SciTe is 2.01 by the way
I know but if you look at the release date you see that it has not been out that long and updating SciTe has a rather low priority.
Digitalboy wrote:i asked this question because he gave september 1 as the beta release date
I never said September 1st. I was targeting September and if everything would work out smoothly then it would be early September. However, there are some components of the current GUI that cannot be transferred to CEGUI 1:1 and need a bit of creative thinking. So it might take a bit longer but it's still scheduled for September.

And while we're on the subject of progress:
Porting of the menu to CEGUI is complete. The new menu supports
- unlimited number of savegames. (also added an option to specify a savegame directory)
- unlimited number of languages. (definitions of language specific files have been separated out to the newly created language.ini file)
- preservation of aspect ratios (letter/pillar boxes)
Although the menu is not scriptable yet it is much more flexible than before.

Internal changes:
Implemented OIS input library
Implemented a game state manager
Implemented a language manager

You mean putting a square texture on a nonsquare wall, and turning off tiling? Can't RF do that already?

Yes it's already possible but it's not very comfortable in the editor - you must play with the values until it fits. A 'Fit Texture' Button would certainly be nice - i have seen it in other Editors, for example the one for Jedi Knight II (That's using the Quake 3 engine, very similar to the one RF uses).
Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.
