Company of Heros cutscenes...

Post by psYco »

Well turns out that conventional professional looking 3D CG cutscenes are near impossible in difficulty (im still doing them im just looking into a mix of that and some other ideas to lighten the load so to speak) Any way I recently saw some very inovative cutscenes, in the new RTS Company of Heros [OK im side tracking now but that is like the best game Ive played in ages you guys HAVE to get it!!! Im a full on FPS only player and I played the demo despite myself since I hate RTS and after playing the demo 3 times I went out and bought it! But just make sure you have better than a GeForce 6600, and AT LEAST 1 gig of RAM since thats the minimum system requirements] Now back to the cutscenes! They basically use 2D Art work but layerd and animated so ie they have several pics overlapping, eg blurred barbd wire in the front a machinegun nest in the foreground and the beaches in the backround, and by movine each different pic at different speeds they can make it look like the camera is moving! Any way I thnk this would be best achived in Flash, So I was wonderng if it is possible to convert a flash animation to a gif or to AVI or mabey even play the flash animation in RF?

yeah in flash, you have many different files to save,

click on export option under the file menu, and you can export to gif or Avi.

use the cutscene entity to play the cut scene

CutScene
This entity allows you to play a cutscene (animated GIF or AVI file) during the game. When this entity is activated by its trigger the game is stopped and the cutscene is played. When it is finished the game will resume.
