DOUBLE DOORS COLLIDING

Post by cbe20032003 »

Hi, can anyone help?, :? I have animated two double doors, that open when the player steps on a pressure pad. (eg. at the front of a shop.) Everything works fine and the doors in the editor animate exactly in the right positions. But when i run the level in RF, the doors seem to melt into eachother and then pull back too far. Its like they have their own momentum or something?

My guess is the interpolation is off, that happens often with level models in RF. What you should try is adding another keyframe a fraction of a second after the last one after each keyframe, same position as the one it goes after. Something like:

0 - closed
0.01 - closed
2 - open
2.01 - open
4 - open
4.01 - open
6 - closed
6.01 - closed

That's it!! Thank you, Andy. I'd remembered someone describing just that to me now too long ago, and I wanted to post it for this, but couldn't remember the method!!

Thanks Andy!, will try that.. makes sense now! :)
One more thing (sorry to be a nuiscance), the floor in my level is made out of different flat solid brushes at the same height.. when I try the level out Virgil has a tendancy to slide about a lot. He also jumps like a gazelle! . I have turned truejumping on and have set all slide fields to 0, but it hasnt made any difference?
