I have an important Question PLEASE HELP

Post by Phantom48 »

Hey,

I am tottaly new here, BUT, i have been 3D Modeling for a few years now. my question is... Can I use all of my already made objects in RF? For Example- I just got finished making a textured Aztec/ Mesoamerican Pyramid. would i be able to use this in RF as part of the world???

hi Phantom

yes you can use your premade assest but you'll need to convert them in to our RF friendly format called .act (actor files) to convert them you'll need to find our exporters, (milkshape comes with them builtin) first step is to have a common 3d modeller

(3dmax or milkshape3d recomended) and export to Bdy file for meshes, and mot. files for animations.

compile all of them together and you get a act,

im not 100% sure but i think you can import .3ds directly into the actor builder tool,

and im pretty sure you can import .3ds into Rfeditpro our world editor, but it converts the .3ds into bsp (our world format)

err.... i hope you followed all that not if not fee free to ask questions :D

Ok. i got the .nfo exporter. and i tried the sample, and that worked, but when i tried my pyramid, things got weird. i added bones and textures and skinned, but then while exporting, i get some weird message saying:

--Runtime Error: exceeded the vertex weight list countSkin: Skin

What now???

RF doesn't support vertex weighting. You'll need to assign each vertex to only one bone.
