Favourite game of all time?

Post by psYco »

All the talk of the worst game ever is a bit depressing, so i figuerd we should have a thread for our best games?

Its a very hard question perhaps one that should not be answerd but ill take a try and i rate the best game i ever played was, "Oddworld:Abe's Oddesy" i first played it on the PS1 when i was about 8-11 but i recently got a PC copy off of ebay... That or "Blood: Spill Some (aka. BLOOD)" a MSDOS game the first chapter is now avalible as shareware, man i loved that game...

It's a really hard question indeed. There's so many excellent games.

But I'll try to give some of my favourites.
I loved the Baldur's Gate games. I still love, in fact. I think BG1 and BG2 are the best RPG's ever, along with Fallout 1 and 2.
Half-Life 1 is the absolute champion of FPS games. It's not just a FPS, it's the FPS.
Starcraft + Brood War (the expansion set), the best strategy game ever.

There's also tons of legendary NES and SNES games but writing them all would take the whole day so I'll pass. :)
Pain is only psychological.

There are just too many good games, well my favourite ones:
Adventure: Broken Sword 1
Action-Adventure: Legend of Zelda - Ocarina Of Time
RPG: Final Fantasy VII
Sim: The Settlers 3
Jump&Run: Super Mario Bros 3
3rd person shooter: Shadowman

Other great games: Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Breath of Fire 4, Grandia 1/2, Lunar Silver Star Story, Final Fantasy IX, Broken Sword 2, The Moment of Silence... hmm.. I think you can guess my favourite genres by now

8 Bit Era = Final Fantasy 3 (US)/Metroid/Sonic the Hedgehog
PSX/N64/DC Era = Final Fantasy 7 & 8/Resident Evil Series (1, 2, and 3)/Soul Caliber (Dreamcast version)
PS2/XBox/GameCube Era = Final Fantasy 12/Resident Evil 4 (PS2)/Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory/Resident Evil Zero
PS3/XBox360/Wii Era = Wii Tennis/Gears of War

As for my favorite game of all time, I would have to say Resident Evil 4. Everything about that game is perfect. The controls, the story, the bosses, the enemies, the graphics, sound, music, etc...

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time rocks.

Also a game which is REALLY good, but maybe just because i don't own any of the FinalFantasy series:

Final Fantasy: Endless Nova. (it's on abandonia)

I totally freaked out when i yesterday found out that it just was a FAN PROJECT. I had so much fun playing it i thought it was a port of one of the groundbreaking titles of all time (and a fan had ported it) when i first played it, but it was just meant as a tribute to the FinalFatasy games.
Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.
