Hi There ! I am new to RF, but about to start using it to follow the examples in Dan Valleo book "Making 3d Games with RF".
I have some questions however that I hope that someone on the community forum can help me with. Valleo recommends the use of the Genesis World Editor2 instead of RFEdit/RFEditPro. It needs to be setup correctly to use with RF however, and I am having trouble with that...I used the option button to point to the headers, template and Texture libraries in RF...everything fine, but what about the previewer path ??? Where should it point to work with RF ? I searched the forum with "World Editor" and "World Editor setup" to get clues, but got so many nonrelevant hits...If someone with experience with World Editor 2 could help me I would be gratefull.
PS: I do have (some) experience with using RFEditPro already ! It works fine for me, but Valeo recommends WE2 as the most stable of the 3 editors and it is the only editor which can import .map files anyway, making it easier to create terrains in RF - Thats the reason why I intend to use it.
Best regards !
Help with setting up World Editor !
Thanks for the help ! I now see that RFEditPro can import .map files. I have however problems with the imported map files : When I compile and test the level the map is just presented as a box brush. I doesn´t get a terrain with hills and valleys as intended but just a plain flat surface. Is there a tutorial in creating outdoor scenes somewhere ?

Dan had a lot of good ideas. He was a genius at scripting, but he was always the first to talk bull-crap about how his way was best. World Editor 2 COULD be used with RF, but i'll be quite honest in telling you that RFEditPro is better. It has its quirks, but it gets the job done. The reason is prefer to use it is because it is made specifically for RF, and it also gets updates with each new release.
My preferred method right now is to use GTKRadiant to make my levels, and then import them into RFEditPro, where i texture them and and place entities. You can do so much more with GTKRadiant than any of the RF Editors.

Thanks for the advice ! I have also concluded that using the WorldEditor instead of RfEditPro is a bad idea, but could any of you tell me what GenSurf is used for ? Is it used for importing terrains made in other application and then tweaking them for use in RF/Genesis engine ? Do you have to use it to implement terrains in RF ? I am asking because I am having problems with getting any kind of terrain into RF. I am getting a compilation error "Failed to remove hidden leafs" related to the GBSPLib.dll everytime i try to compile a level where i used any kind of terrain. I am obvoiusly doing something wrong, but what ?

80 percent of the RF Games you CAN ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD were made with World Editor 2
http://terrymorgan.net/asylum.htm
Made with World Editor 2
Also, all of Pickles' (Dan Valeo's) games.
Where are all the games made with RFeditpro?
Gensurf is a disaster, use Nem's terrain generator instead.
