Im going to produce an arena style game, and call it Arena.Does anyone know of a game already called this? It will look a lot like Unreal Tournament probably, and development will be slow till holidays. It will be set in the future, and it will be like gladiator contests in the future, with two teams fighting. But because the future isnt that barbaric, the suits will be externally controlled,but the crowd doesnt know that, because blood and guts still fly.Development will be slow means updates here will be slow, so dont expect much here.

uhm... you mean something like "Tribes" or "Starsiege"?
As far as I know there's no game simply called Arena... but there's "The Elders Scrolls: Arena", "Custom Robot Arena", "Quake 3 Arena" and "Legion Arena"....
If I recall correctly Multiplayer is not yet supported by RF? That would mean a single-player arena-game.

Sounds good, I've been thinking about making an arena game like that too. It would be fun, I think.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend naming it just 'Arena'. First of all, there is a game called Arena already. Secondly, the game wouldn't stand out from the mass with that name. Just try it: type 'arena' to any search engine (ie. Google). If you had that game uploaded somewhere, you wouldn't certainly find it.

Yeah, i new about quake3 and all that, but i wanted to know if there is a game called just arena.ill go think up some more game names and do a poll.

Wont be many updates till i get a book out from the library.
It might be multiplayer if rf2 is out or if rf1 gets multiplayer.

Sounds good. I've always liked futuristic arena games (I'm an Unreal Tournament junkie too

). However, if you are forced to make this a single player game, why not add a little storyline? Maybe one guy cheated his way up to the top ,and you're the only one who knows how to stop him. You then have to win all of the games of the future until you fight the cheater and reveal that he was cheating. Something simple like that. You can't do too much with an arena game (or can you?)

or your space slaves forced into arena fighting and the only way to recover ur freedom is the kill everyone, butthe guys at the top dont let you free after that and you kill them too.

wat about: your bestest buddy was killed in the arena. you want revenge so you confront him. he says the only way to kill him is to chalenge him in the arena after defeating all the other teams.
