Using the things around you(including you!)

Post by darksmaster923 »

Okay, so sometimes i want to do an organic animation, like lets say first person weapon reloading. So i use my own arms to pretend to be like the actual game arms and move them around in a reloading animation for your gun, then put it in your game. Same thing goes for other animations. Its also handy to have a fake or airsoft version of your weapon to do it with. You can also do this for full character animations, like a kick or somthing like that. Now to making guns. Need a weapon of some sort to use in a sci-fi for fantasy game? Look in your house. I had a shampoo bottle that can look like a heavy duty laser pistol. Plus i had a shampoo bottle, flipped it on its side, opened the cap, and it looked like a pistol with a really cool sight. BUT if you add a barrel, clip and stock in a modeler, you can turn it into a carbine.

lol. that's funny as heck.

i remember my first walk cycle. i drove my family nuts trying to get it right (we were in a hotel room). i personally hate animating, i have to say it's my least favorite part of game design.

yeah, id have to agree with that, though scripting comes a close second. i just can't seem to get the hang of it.
The world is for the taking.
All it needs is one person to take it.
I consider my self to be that person.
