Ripped Motorcycle/War Nerd

Post by wackedoutbiker »

I'm too busy getting ripped right now to care about anything else. Does that make me a nerd?

I just thought you guys would like the movie, not get into such a serious discussion about nerds.

By the way, I eat nerds for breakfast. They're not that meaty, but I like the nice crunchy inside.

Oh I still do...it's a form of revenge, for when I was in school, not even the nerds would let me hang out with them. Not that I was really interested in their stuff anyway...

No offense to sci-fi fans, just don't be this guy in the picture.

Ive never met a hardcore nerd before. Exactly what defines someone as a nerd nowadays?

the word "nerd" is old fasiond and tbh is not really used in schools today, but i imagine its the same as a geek, which are simply the unpopular ppl... its just another one of those loosly defined social standings things. :?

I wouldnt mind too much being called a computer geek, but geek alone is sorta not so good.i dont think many ppl would call me a geek in real life tho cos im a sports jock guy too,as in i swim, play a high level of soccer(sorry, football)(lol),and im one of the faster sprinters in my city.(not to boast or anything).also i think dork is still used to describe socially challenged(love that) ppl.

Well, Harley enthusiasts and heavy metal fans are considered lower than nerds in the place I currently live, so yes, I do know what it's like.

And I know that nobody I know gives a crap about my own game making stuff so I don't talk about it much. I often worry that people don't care about anything I do, so I don't like to babble away like the Star Trek Geek in the previous link.

Well, since this thread somehow formed into a discussion of the definition of a nerd, I thought that I'd throw in my 2 cents.

Anyways, To my knowledge, there are 3 different forms of nerds.

The Smart Nerd- This is the guy that seems to be a walking dictionary. He knows the answer to just about anything and if not, he can find it. Despite his knowledge, he can still be a real cool guy with a lot of good friends. They might just call him a nerd because it's the only thing tht they can tease him with.

The Video Game Nerd: Probably the most common. His life seems to revolve around electronics. He may be smart or he may not be but he sure knows how to defeat the cyclops on level 11 in no time at all. Most likely, this nerd has found a handful of friends that share his interests and that respect him. This nerd is usually not that good when it comes to physical strength or successfully communicating to others without embarrassing himself.

The Extreme Nerd: There aren't many but that doesn't mean that they don't exist. They love to be successful and always end up being eerily smart and talented. A lot of people avoid them for fear of being dragged into an uniteresting conversation. If this person ever messed something up, they would probably break down.

So, that's what I think at least. I'd say that I am a nerd. I'm a crossbreed between the video game nerd and the smart nerd. I'm pretty smart and I do enjoy video games now and then, but I don't go to extremes. I have many other interests and I am respected by quite a few people to my knowledge. I'm happy like this.

you seem to know a lot about nerds. by the way, love the song.
The world is for the taking.
All it needs is one person to take it.
I consider my self to be that person.

Well, I like video games, but I am not that great at them, and I certainly do exercise and I am also a bit of a gun nut. (not political though, I hate how neither side here is getting anything done)

I'm not exactly a walking dictionary, nor am I super-good at many games. I can't play CS: Source that well yet, but at least I'm better with a real gun.

i guess i'm a weird nerd: a redneck nerd.I am a walking dictionary; i can talk to any one any where about any subject at any time.....if they'd listen, heh. I am a hardcore computer rpger exclusively. Paladins....exclusively.

I also am a member of the national guard; i'm very patriotic; and i know how to ride a horse, shoot a shotgun or a rifle, have made my own bows and arrows with my brother, have owned a ford 4x4 truck; took my driving test with a lincoln town car and a harley fatboy.

I have 2 real-life friends; one is my wife, the other is one of the smartest people i've ever seen.

so yeah....i'm a bit on the weird side, heh.
