RF.FGD?

Post by Trevor »

Hi. I read about an "RF.FGD" file for Worldcraft. This interested me greatly, as I could theoretically use Worldcraft as my only editor without even having to go through rfedit or rfeditpro if I had this file. Does anyone have it or know were I can get it?

Sure. An .FGD is the type of file Worldcraft uses to define it's entity data. For example, an "RF.FGD" (which apparently exists) would allow you to place the EnvironmentSetup, StaticMesh, PlayerStart, etc. entities in Worldcraft itself, without needing to export your level to rfedit to do this job. See what I'm gettin' at? Like I said, this file apparently exists, but I couldn't get a download location from a google search. So I was wondering if anyone here had it.

i dont think its ment like that, at least i cant remember that, what i think it means is you can create the world geometry and convert it to RF, as they use the same file type i belive, this would mean you would have to add your entities your self wich i dont belive it wold be too hard, the thing that i am unsure about is textures, somone else will probably be able to help you

Actually no. You can export geometry from Worldcraft to RF without any additional files. An *.FGD file is, like I said, a Worldcraft entity data file. It is indeed meant as I said it was. But I suppose you don't have it then? Anybody?

Those posts were back 6 years ago in 2001. I'm sure if it was any good hike1 would have kept it on his site, he keeps EVERYTHING that is useful. He did seem to think it wasn't working very well in those posts.
Take a look on his site:

RF.fgd should be included on my terrymorgan.net/download.htm page, look for a
worldcraft tutorial.

It helped with placing lights, but I don't think
much else. I'm using http://www.neoaxisgroup.com engine now,

I don't use RF anymore as it is software-based and obsolete.
