Father Son Bonding

Post by Agentarrow »

Well, My dad and I started building a 16x4 N-scale model train layout. I got around to posting some pics of how far we are. We've been working on this since february and took about two months off for time in Ukraine. My dad went out and got a Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 challenger the second larges Locomotive ever built. Hand painted with scale, extreme details working lights and sounds, and computer controlled speed. (on the model) the fruits of our labor got us that train at $300 USD, a huge discount from the hobby shop tag price of $450 USD. We love our train, I got some pics of the layout and trains:

the basement needs a repainting, BADLY! this is the basement of my moms shop not our house. We're going to carpet it and redo the walls. I'll have to post pics as we get along, I'll try to update monthly if ppl remind me.

Cool! I love model trains. I collect HO scale(Half O-gauge). I haven't played with them in a while though. Nice start of a layout there! Looks like it'll turn out great!

Edit: Those pics are a bit large. I can't see all of one photo on my 1440x900pixel 19in wide screen monitor! If you upload more, a lower resolution would be easier to view.
Think outside the box.

our layout is N (1/4 O guage) however N is the most lifelike since in O and HO the cars are taller than the real thing. They are also shorter, N is completely scale, while HO and O is slightly taller and shorter than scale. My dad collected HO when he was a teenager, but he likes N more.
