bdy export problem from MS3D1.8.0

Post by Jaguar_jwg »

I do not know if this is a problem with Milkshape or my system.
I am using Milkshape v1.8.0.
I have been using it for some time with no problems. In-fact I have imported .x files, boned them, animated them, and exported them as .bdy and .mot files, and got them to work in RF.
Now I have this problem.
I have a model with lower poly count than those previous. When I try to export it (boned) to a .bdy, the program crashes faithfully each time. I tried removing bones, till I was down to just two bones. It didn't crash with two bones, but when I added the third, it crashed. I just can't figure the problem.
Has anyone experienced such a problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

I haven't really tried to export something from MilkShape lately but if it's a problem with the modeling program you should ask on the MilkShape forum...

I've never had that problem. I'm now on v1.8.2 but v1.8.0, v1.8.1, v1.8.1a and v1.8.1b worked ok no problem. MS can't Import .bdy files but for me they never have.

Don't know why but when i had my old integrated graphics milkshape crashed alot, but since i have my new graphics card it does not crash anymore. (Seems to use some hardware-dependent function maybe). Sounds strange, i know.

No, I think you are right Jay. I was thinking it may be a graphics problem, but I think there are other factors involved. My mainboard seem to have a mind of it's own. It sometimes does some strange things. It doesn't run certain programs e.t.c.
It's working now though. I brought the polys down a bit. It exported the bdy file.
Thanks for all the posts.
