I dont know if this would work, but could you just make the box really huge and have it extend way past the terrain and than give it a sky texture? Just build your level inside a huge sky?

Just curious, what program did you use to make the terrain?

How did you import it? Did you put it into a modelling program and convert it to a static mesh? What program did you use?

I always thought that you had to use the awful Gen-surf :/

you click on Tools>options>Exportation, you wana make sure that "Hints," and "sky," are unclicked, or els it will be all messed up in RF, and then you just click File>Export>.Map, and then you just open it with RF

The sky can be done 2 ways. Sky Box or Sky Dome.

1) Sky Box - A Sky Box is created by making a box big enough to surround your level, select it in the editor, press the page down key to open the face attributes box, check the sky checkbox, click apply. Then, under the entities box on the left, you'll see an adjust sky button, click this, and it will allow you to select 6 sky textures for your box - top- bottom, left right front and back. You can find some free skybox textures or tuts on making them on the web. You can get rid of the rotation of the sky box by entering 0.0 into the sky box rotation speed box. Click okay and you have a skybox.

2) Sky Dome. Surround your level with a box. Select the box and press page down. Check the Transparent checkbox, enter a number one, in the level of transparency (not zero), and click apply. Then place a Sky Dome entity into your level, and type in a sky dome script name (there is a pre-made one in the script folder.), and you should be good to go.

Sky domes are edited in their script files. You can find a section on Sky Domes in the RF User manual. Good luck!

This post is almost 3 years old. It should be closed and another topic started. Steven, can you split the topic?
