Post by ArKanuS »

  I can't believe I'm asking this but how do you add the .txl file textures in RFEditPro?

(this makes me feel n00bish 8) )

Place the TXL in the maps folder (at least thats done standard) and then at the top menu 'projects' and 'level options'. There you must set the TXL file you want to use for your map.

If you want to edit a txl file you must use rfPack.exe in the tools folder. When started, you will start with an empty txl file. You can load an existing txl file in the File menu. To add a texture, just drag&drop the texture file into the rfPack window. The textures must be square, the sides must be a power of 2 (64x64,128x128,256x256,512x512 are common formats, i normally use 256x256 and sometimes 512x512). They must be a bmp file with either 8 bit (256 colors) or 24bit (True color). 8bit files will reduce the txl file size but will have no effect on the framerate because in the game the textures are converted into a special format.
Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.
