Just playing with some stuff I think my photoshop skills are improving a good deal as of lately. You can still tell it's a photoshop job of course. I just put the grass behind it for fun it's a pattern stamp I have.
I still have the gear itself saved in a layered format so I can apply it to a model without the grass if I ever want to, or need to.
cool! Its to bad that gimp can't do that! ............. well I know that it can! But I just don't know how! I'm in favor of the free stuff! LOL!!!!

Gimp is an excellent program. I used it exclusively before getting Photoslop..I mean Photoshop.
Do a search as there are resources out there that tell you all about Gimp's many features. I still use it for certain things but I've gotten so fast at Photoshop it's pretty much collecting dust.
Kind of like there are a lot of good free or cheap 3D modellers out there. However 3DS Max is what I am most experienced and fastest at. Therefor it's hard to impossible to pull myself away from it to another program.
I guess many go the free rout first and don't like 3DS Max. However I got 3DS Max because I wanted to mod for Morrowind, and other games and 3DS Max was the only program compatible with them.
To me I'd rather pay more money and cut the hassle in half rather than go free but have to do 10 more things to get the end result. Time is money too.
Hmm...kind of got off on a tiff there. Don't know where all of that came from I just got off work so maybe thats it.
