I got a message on the 7th, My application to IA was accepted, I have an entrance exam in two weeks, which should be easy
though, I'll have to get a car to drive myself, I'm getting either a '69 charger or a '76 challenger... or at least hope to

Re: I'M IN!!!
Congratulations, AA!! Well done.
Now, I am not really a car guy, but I have never been fond of MOPAR products. GM and Ford are more my bag. My father owned a 1974 Charger and it was a horrendous vehicle. Keep in mind also, that it was only a two year old car then. I've known other folks to have MOPAR products and nothing but trouble. My first car was a 1974 Firebird 400. I loved that car. Then I owned 2 Camaros, and a Cavalier after that. Loved 'em all. Then I went the Ford route and have owned Ford's ever since.
Watch out buying a collectors vehicle, as the cost of 'upkeep' can outweigh the cost of a car payment for a newer car.
Good luck!

Re: I'M IN!!!
Good advice, I'm actually quite fond of Dodge vehicles, I've had just the opposite of you, Mopar has been my friend since I was a tiny kid, I've never seen a good Ford, and I live by all the automaker's headquarters, 30 minute drive from Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge 40 minutes from Ford, and 5 minutes from GM. And I realize that the cost of upkeep on a classic can be more than the payments on a new car, My dad could get me a family discount on a 2008 charger with payments less than $150 a month, but I like the classics. I actually have a shirt that says: "The Muscle Car all other Muscle Cars want to be... a '69 Charger"

Congratulations!!!!
Now I just want to make one comment on buying a used vehicle, even though I bet your parents will, if not already, have said the same thing. I will list the tips I know of for looking for and buying a used vehicle.
You need to fully inspect the car yourself for any defects, noises or rust. Make sure what is suppose to work works. Ask to test drive the car and have someone experienced enough along so that they can take note of any odd sounds that might mean trouble. If possible take it to a mechanic you know and have them look over it. Also, consider mileage and if they are highway or city miles(city miles are bad, highway is better). Only then if the car checks out should you consider it. Never jump the gun on buying a car, because if there is something wrong with it, it can cost a lot to fix it. If you follow these guidelines it will help increase your chances of getting a good reliable vehicle and decrease the chances of getting a "lemon". Good luck finding the car you want!

@ Darksmaster, I'm almost 15, but I qualify for a school license, a drivers license for travel to and from school only unless a licensed driver over 18 is with me
